I’ve stayed twice already in Imperial Hotel. Once in 2011 and in 2016. The main reason why we’ve chosen this hotel is it is one of the most budget friendly hotel in Tsim Sha Tsui, Hong Kong. We stayed at a hotel instead of a hostel/inn because we have kids with us.
So going back to Imperial Hotel, it is a small hotel along Nathan Road, just between Mody Road and Middle Road. It is also several steps away from Tsim Sha Tsui Station and East Tsim Sha Tsui Station, so commuting is not a problem if you stay here.
From the airport, we rode the airport express to Kowloon, the nearest station to Imperial Hotel. Then from Kowloon, there are free shuttle buses for airport express passengers that will bring you to some spots near your hotel or any destination. In order to get to Imperial Hotel, you must ride the Free Shuttle “K3”. Bus K3 goes around Tsim Sha Tsui around Mody Road. Go down on its first stop, Holiday Inn Golden Mile Hong Kong. From there, you can walk directly to Imperial Hotel.
The rooms are spacious and cozy. Bed is comfortable but somehow harder than I expected. Somehow and unbelievably, I got a good night sleep in that bed. Toilet and bath are small but tolerable.
What I like in this hotel is they replenish everything every single day. Unlike other hotels that you need to call the housekeeping and ask for everything. Rooms are also made up when we get back from an exhausting day.
Another amazing thing about Imperial Hotel is that they are very generous with consumables. Every day, I ask for an additional bottled water and the housekeeping lady is smiling while she give it to me. Bottled water (250ml) in HK is quite pricey at HKD 6-10 (Php 37-60).
There are many travel agents outside Chungking Mansions, which is just beside Imperial Hotel. some of them are annoying other people to get their services.
